Cheap Laptops One For Everyone

Posted by in Tv-product-reviews

Only five years ago laptops were considered a pretty hefty expense, with even a mid range system averaging over $1400. Nowadays, cheap laptops can be found all over.

Depending on what your needs are will depend on how cheap you can go, but even a top notch Windows based laptop can be had for under $800 with all the bells and whistles of its predecessors only a few years before.

Even a more powerful laptop can still be had for about $600 – still pretty cheap in the scheme of things. Add a manufacture’rs rebate or a great sale, and you are definitely ahead of the game.

These most probably will only come with a gig of RAM but if you limit your computer usage to emails, social networking, maybe organizing some online photos, and some simple web browsing, that will easily handle all your projects.

Usually these are found in electronics stores that specialize in electronics only – not mass merchandisers that sell everything from candy to the kitchen sink plus stoves and computers. Look for smaller local stores that perhaps accept trade-ins. Many computer and techno-geeks buy updated technology every six months or so and what they trade in still being sold in retail stores for full price.

Be on the lookout for weekly sales, rebates, online specials, and even websites that specialize in overstocked electronics. At holiday time they might even throw in free shipping, too. Be careful about what you buy – if you aren’t familiar with the brand, pass on it. It could be overstocked because it’s a crummy device.

Before putting any of your files onto a computer you buy second hand, do a complete security scan for viruses, spyware, etc. This might be the reason they’re selling it – it’s been infected with a virus they can’t get rid of.

Acer desktops are popular with many customers. They are used by professionals, students and home workers. Right now, you probably know how your computer works. You are either happy or disappointed with its performance. There are things that you want to improve, but you do not know how to start. It is good to know the hardware parts that form your computer. Hardware can directly affect the performance of a PC.

The first type of hardware is the CPU unit. A reliable computer has an efficient CPU unit. The CPU unit controls every other functions of the computer. The CPU unit must always operate at optimum levels. The speed of a CPU is important because no one likes a slow computer. Acer computers utilize a wide range of processors. Besides speed, you must count the number of cores in processor. Check the range of functions of the processor and decide if it meets your needs. Most of the time, high performing PCs are more expensive.

The second type of hardware is the memory. All computers contain some kind of memory.RAM memory is the most utilized. You have a choice between DDR3 memory and DDR2 memory. Lower priced desktops function on DDR2 memory. As a buyer, you are advised to choose a computer with a big memory. Go for 4GB of RAM and more. You will be on the safe side. Your system is assured of smooth operation if you choose a large memory. A combination of large memory and speed is good. Fast memory improves performance.

The hard drive is a sturdy piece of hardware. It affects the performance of the computer in many ways. The best hard drive is one with a large capacity and high speed. Speed and capacity affects the performance of the computer. Low speed and small capacity are undesirable. Find a system with over 500GB of storage. Most PCs utilize hard drives that run at 7200rpm.However, you can get hard drives with higher maximums – mostly around 10,000rpm.

The second type of drive is the optical drive. This piece of hardware is a standard component on many PCs.An optical is capable of playing DVD/CD/BluRay media. A burner that can support R/RW formats is available.

Efficient DVD burners play media at higher speeds, preferably over 16x. A system that hosts dual layer formats is a bonus. However, dual layer formats are expensive.

The last type of hardware to check on your shopping list is the video card feature. The video card feature is pre-installed on the latest computers. Life Made Simple With Western Digital External Hard Drives.

Posted by in Tv-product-reviews

No more worrying about what will happen to all those files you have in case of a computer crash. Western Digital external hard drives will save you time and money because you can have a back up of all those files. Pictures, music, etc. All saved with a few clicks of the mouse button.

When you mention hard drive to some people, dollar signs immediately spring to mind. External hard drives can be relatively cheap if you do a little research before purchasing. I have personally seen 500 GB hard drives going for about $79. Keep an eye out on those computer store specials, etc. If you are in the market for one.

Instead of filling up your internal drive and making your computer more sluggish, get those files that you do not use a lot off of your computer. Copy them or even move them totally over to an external hard drive. If you have 1000s of music files but you have already moves them to your MP3 player of choice, move them. Keeping them on the computer is a waste of good space. Once we move those files we rarely use them on the actual computer itself, well I know I don’t. The same with pictures. Pictures can be big files and take up huge amounts of space. Move those files to a couple of different storage locations and free up some space.

I say this because the more stuff, especially graphics, music and the like, that you keep on a computer the slower it will get; especially if your computer was never really made or built to handle these types of things. If your computer is newer you probably do not have this problem as most of them are built to handle graphics, games, pictures, etc.

Have this saved me a headache? You bet it has. When my desktop crashed six months ago because of an internal hard drive failure, I had all my work files saved on another disk which was able to be moved over once I got a new internal drive. The Tech support took good care of me with little worries because I was prepared. Why, because I had crashed before and lost absolutely everything. I still have not replaced all the music and such that I lost that first time. Cannot even remember half of what I lost. If you do business on any computer I would recommend having a back up source or two for those files. You cannot recover those once they are gone. Have a drive just for those files all on their own.

If you take a lot of pictures of your friends or family store those. I even go so far as to store them online as well. So I always have access to my pictures. This is just a very smart thing to do. You can never replace a picture or a certain smile, etc. If you are just as into your music the same thing absolutely applies to you. I know some music lovers who have literally spent hundreds of hours downloading music, etc. I would not be a happy camper to lose all those files.

The life span of these drives are good so you do not have to worry about data corruption or the drive going out unless you abuse it, etc. Western Digital eternal hard drives are a very good investment. So to save your piece of mind in the future, look into a good back up plan for the files stored on your computer’s hard drive today.
