Question by dani L: How to mend my heart after a 3 year relationship?
I (19 yrs old) had been going out with my ex for 3 years (21 yrs old) (all through high school and now starting college) and last night he decided to break up. 5 monthes ago he started a 6 day a week job and did not come home except for saturday night and sunday. His job is hard work and he has not been as happy for he doesnt like the job and wants a life back. He would come and stay with me on those nights he was home. Last night tho he went to hang out with his friends and was not going to come over. He called me later and wanted me to pick him up since he had drank. I told him I thought it was screwed up he hadnt called me since he was back and then he replied with Nevermind dont pick me up. A little later he text me saying he wanted to end our relationship. He said he had been think about it for a long time and finally had the courage to say it. (Our relationship has always been off and on, I try to be good to him but he doesnt always give as much as I put in, he has also broken up with me several times and we have gotten back together) But this time he said we wont get back together. He said I deserve a better guy and he has just lost interest in me. He kept telling me I will be okay and for me to go find a guy who will treat me better. I am very upset. He has been with me for 3 years, I feel like he is the only person I have (he is my first love and first and only sexual partner. I am his second real relationship and his longest) I just dont understand where this came from. He has been depressed with his job tho but I never thought this would happen. Even tho our relationship hasnt been great I still love him so much. Everything in my room reminds me of him, he bought me my tv, ps3, my dog! I am so close with his family and i am best friends with his sister so I will be seeing him often. I dont know how to cope with all this. He said he doesnt think we will ever get back together but he doesnt know what the future holds. Again i am best friends with his sister, amd close with his family, and we have the same friends so he is going to be around. He said he will still talk to me (as friends) and that he is still coming to me and his sisters halloween party. I dont know how to cope I am soooo hurt.
*by the way he hasnt been cheating on me or anything and i know that for sure
I tried to tell him we should try to stick together and do thing differently and better. He said No, he doesnt feel the same for me, lost feelings.

Awww honey i feel your pain i am also 19 years old.. I think you should meet up with him and talk with him tell him that you should both atleast TRY to work out and do things you guys havent done before spice up your relationship start over do something so there can be that spice like it was in the beginning take a vacation together maybe it might help get away from it all just both of you do something hun and goodluck! i hope everything works out for you and you know what if you give it a try it just might! and if its really that Dead to him your going to have to learn to move on because what more can you do Joy and Pain is all in the game of Love.
