    Nooo!!!! They in fact have a longer life span than regular old tv’s. Some of them may last up to 15 years! What you might have heard is that there will be a more expensive fancier tv in 5 years. The tube in some of the flatscreens can last up to 20 years!!

    this is false. LCD and Plasma are designed to last well beyond this.

    All LCD’s and most plasma are rated to last approx 60000 hours with some of the latest plasma rated at 100000 hours. Even at half of the rated life (30000) you could watch 5 hours every day and the TV would last over 15 years.
