Everybody could use a little extra storage, especially now. Ever since it became free to take unlimited amounts of pictures and movies, storage became a hot commodity. What a great era. This way, you can minimize chances of having it fried due to a power outage. Of course, never drop your Hard Drive and always handle it carefully.
